The British School Muscat is recruiting a early years practitioner for an August 2026 start on a renewable two-year contract. You'll join a collaborative early years department serving an international student body in Muscat, delivering high-quality instruction within a well-resourced classroom environment.
Key responsibilities
- Plan, deliver and assess engaging early years lessons aligned to the school's curriculum framework
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of English-additional-language and mixed-ability learners
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate proactively with parents
- Contribute to at least one co-curricular activity, house programme, or trip each term
- Participate in departmental planning, moderation, and whole-school professional learning
- Uphold the school's safeguarding, child-protection, and behaviour policies at all times
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant subject or Education
- Minimum 2 years of full-time classroom teaching experience (Early Years)
- Native or near-native English proficiency (CEFR C1+)
- Clean international background check (police clearance from all countries of residence in the last 10 years)
- Valid passport with at least 18 months remaining validity
- Recognised teaching license (QTS, US State License, PGCE, B.Ed., or equivalent)
Salary & benefits package
Headline compensation: $3,800 – $4,700 / mo. In addition to base pay, the school offers the following:
